楚雄师范学院是一所省属普通高校，2001年5月，经教育部批准成立，2010年通过教育部合格评估。2014年被教育部列为“全国卓越教师培养计划改革项目”实施单位, 2015年获批为云南省第二批转型发展试点高校, 2016年遴选为云南省一流学科（高原学科）建设高校, 2017年成为云南省首批公费师范生培养单位。2009年获“全国文明单位”荣誉称号，2017年被中央文明委授予第一届“全国文明校园”荣誉称号。
学校设有10个二级学院，开设了58个全日制本科专业，目前有4个学科被立为硕士学位授权省级培育建设学科，建有省级优势特色重点学科1个，省级高校一流学科（B类高原学科）1个，国家级特色专业1个，省级优势特色专业5个，教育部重点实验室研究基地3个，省高校重点实验室和工程研究中心6个，8个专业入选省级一流专业建设点，1个专业入选国家级一流专业建设点。获省级以上“本科教学工程”建设项目共30类316项，学生各类学科专业竞赛获国家级奖励446项，省级奖励1088项。
学校大力加强开放办学，先后与美国、加拿大、德国、泰国、越南、老挝、柬埔寨、新加坡等国高校签署了合作协议，开展联合培养、科技合作、境外实习等国际合作项目，建立海外实习实践基地15个，学校不断向开放型、国际化迈进。

Introduction and Admission of Chuxiong Normal University
Chuxiong Normal University (CNU) was founded in 1936 and is now a full-time general undergraduate university in Yunnan Province, approved by the State Education Ministry in May of 2001. CNU recruits full-time undergraduate students from 25 provinces, and now there are 15,364 full-time undergraduates in 10 colleges with 55 full-time undergraduate programs. There are three provincial first-class and eight university-level vital disciplines, and Master's degree authorization cultivation and construction of three fields in discipline construction. Regarding teaching outcomes, the teachers of CNU have won one second prize for national teaching achievement, one particular award, five first prizes, three second prizes at the provincial level, and 316 "undergraduate teaching quality" projects at or above the provincial level. The students have won 446 national awards and 1,088 provincial ones. Regarding curriculum construction, there are seven high-quality courses and ten first-class courses. CNU has made enormous achievements in talent training, scientific research, local service, and international exchanges. In so doing, it has significantly contributed to developing primary education and teacher training and advancing economics, sciences, and society locally and nationally.
